Over the past few weeks, the children have been producing a variety of homework based around our topic of Marvellous Morecambe. Here are some pictures of a few examples, They include a beach in a box, a puppet show, a Victorian doll’s house, a Victorian wooden toy and a Victorian costume.
On Monday, all of Year 5 and 6 spent the day in Marvellous Morecambe! We began our day by visiting the Heritage Centre and Winter Gardens, as well as following an old map of Morecambe to see how land use has changed.
After lunch, we walked from the Midland Hotel to Happy Mount Park, using old photographs of Morecambe landmarks (like Bubbles, the Pleasure Park, the piers and Crinkley Bottom) to identify the same views today and take photographs of those views.
Huge thanks to Morecambe Heritage Centre and The Winter Gardens for opening especially for us, making the day more memorable and enjoyable.
