From the summer term of the 2020 – 2021 academic year, it is a statutory requirement that all schools in England and Wales are teaching Relationship and Sex Education as a fundamental part of the curriculum.
As part of implementing the RSE curriculum, schools must consult with parents, staff and governors to ensure there is a general consensus on our approaches to policy and the curriculum content. Staff and governors have already been consulted and together they have revised the PSHE and RSE curriculum policies. The changes that have been made are relatively minor as much of the content has already been taught as part of our inclusive curriculum.
Bolton-le-Sands Church of England Primary School will be starting their consultation on Monday 7 December 2020 and the consultation will close on Friday 18 December 2020.
As part of this, we are asking parents to read through the PSHE Policy, RSE Policy and SCARF Materials (below) to further their understanding of curriculum content and when it will be taught. We then ask that parents complete a short questionnaire to help provide feedback to us.
