Key Stage One – Class 4
Welcome to Class 4!
The children have made a great start to the year, settling in well and enjoying our topic:
Our key enquiry question for the start of this unit is:
“Who helps us in an emergency?”
In English, we will be exploring the texts:
‘Zog’ by Julia Donaldson
‘Vlad and the Great Fire of London’ by Kate Cunningham
If you find you have some time in your day that you would like to fill with other learning activities, then here are some suggestions:
- Number bonds to 10 and then 20
- Year 2 – concentrate on 2, 5 and 10 times tables
- Reading – this could be together, by themselves using Oxford Owl, borrow box or reading books from your bookshelf
- Keep recapping previous learning e.g. telling the time
- Continue to practise spellings of common exception words (included in your home learning pack with spelling games if needed)
Little and often with all these things is key!
The children in Key Stage 1 will be supported by our wonderful team of Teaching Assistants: Mrs Scott, Mrs Smith, Mrs Mayor, Mrs Livesey and Mrs Cattermole.
Keep checking the our website and Facebook page for regular updates and news.
We love to see what the children have produced! We understand each home learning environment and circumstances will differ, if you need any support or anything extra/further advice please do not hesitate to ask.
