Our Church and Community

Holy Trinity Church

At the heart of our school life is our close relationship with Holy Trinity Church in the parish of Bolton-le-Sands. Our shared journey of faith reflects our school vision: With God at the centre, we reach out to support each other in learning, growth and community. “We love because God first loved us.” 1 John 4:19.

How we partner with the church:

  • Our Vicar, Reverend Peter Hamborg, regularly leads worship in school, including Eucharist services, helping us to place prayer, reflection and worship at the centre of our school year.
  • Our children are involved in church services and festivals, aiding them to grow as active members in both school and church communities.
  • Holy Trinity serves not only as our worship partner but as a wider hub for village life: weekly services, Messy Church sessions and interactive services help our school children to feel part of a living faith-community.
  • We’re grateful that this deep link helps our children to see what it means to live out our Christian values together in the locality.

We believe this partnership enriches both the spiritual life of the school and the broader community life of the church, giving children and families meaningful opportunities to worship, reflect and engage. Click on the logo below to view Holy Trinity’s website.

Working closely with Holy Trinity Church allows our children to experience faith, community and learning in a meaningful and tangible way. Throughout the year, they take part in church festivals, explore the church and its grounds as an inspiring and reflective learning environment and participate in partnership initiatives such as the First Tuesday Hub. These shared experiences help our children see our vision lived out, strengthening the bonds between school, church and community life and nurturing a deep sense of belonging and purpose.

Our Wider Community

Our vision, “With God at the centre, we reach out to support each other in learning, growth and community,” inspires us to look beyond our school gates and play an active part in village life. Reaching out to our wider community is an essential expression of who we are and what we hope our children become.

Working alongside local organisations:
We partner with a wide range of community groups in Bolton-le-Sands and the surrounding area, helping our children understand that their learning is part of a bigger story of service and connection. These partnerships include Bolton-le-Sands Library, BLS Arts Society, Bolton-le-Sands Women’s Institute, Morecambe Food Bank, Bolton-le-Sands Pre-School, St John’s Hospice, Ripley St Thomas, Lancaster Bee Keepers, Lancaster Priory, Carnforth Swimming Pool and Carnforth Rotary.

Community events:
As part of learning what it means to reach out with compassion, our children support, volunteer in, and raise funds for local causes. Our greatest contribution has been to St John’s Hospice, for whom we have raised over £13,000 in the last decade – a testament to the generosity and commitment of our school family.

Our village school:
As the village school, we stand at the heart of the community. Our pupils, staff and families are woven into the everyday life of Bolton-le-Sands and we remain committed to being outward-looking, inclusive and compassionate. Through these relationships, our children see our vision lived out in real and meaningful ways.
