Our Vision

Our School Vision

At Bolton-le-Sands Church of England Primary School, we believe that God is at the heart of everything we do. Our vision is for every member of our school community to grow in faith, love and wisdom, supported by the teachings of Jesus. We are committed to nurturing a compassionate and inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and welcomed.

As a village school at the core of our local community, we extend our faith and friendship to all, inspired by our belief that:

God’s love guides us in all that we do, providing us with the light to navigate challenges, the courage to persevere and the love to unite us as one.

Our School Values

In reflection of our Christian values, every child belongs to one of our school House Teams, each named after a virtue we seek to live out together:

Trust
Faith in God’s promises strengthens our trust in Him and in one another.
“My God is my strength in whom I trust.” Psalm 18:2

Honour
Rooted in respect and devotion to God and each other, honour teaches us to listen, obey, give thanks and live with humility.
“Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honour one another above yourselves.” Romans 12:10

Respect
Respect flows from recognising the value of every person as God’s creation.
“Do to others what you would have them do to you.” Matthew 7:12

Courage
More than bravery, courage is the confidence to do what is right, even when it is difficult.
“Be strong and courageous; do not be frightened or dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

Our Children

By raising expectations and refining our curriculum, we have nurtured pupils who show curiosity, resilience and empathy in abundance. Children grasp opportunities with enthusiasm, academically, creatively and socially, and confidently articulate what it means to be part of our caring, united school family. Their leadership, voice and personal successes demonstrate a community where every child is known, valued and encouraged to flourish in mind, body and spirit.

Our Staff

Through collaborative professional development and a steadfast focus on staff wellbeing, we have cultivated a team that is skilled, united and energised. Our strong professional relationships and pastoral support ensure that staff feel valued and confident, which leads to consistently high-quality teaching and leadership growth across the school. This shared strength directly benefits our children, who experience security, stability and excellence every day.

Our School Logo

Our school logo is rich in meaning, reflecting who we are and what we believe.

At its heart is the cross, reminding us that God is always at the centre of our lives and learning. Surrounding the cross are hearts that grow larger as they move outwards. This is a symbol of God’s love working through us, reaching out to others and into the wider world.

The hills represent our school community, our local area and beyond, grounding us in the place where we live, learn and serve.

Finally, the rising sun reminds us that we are called to be lights in the world, shining brightly with hope, love and compassion wherever we go.

Spirituality

At Bolton-le-Sands Church of England Primary School, we believe that every child is unique and created in the image of God. It is our calling to nurture each child’s spiritual, emotional and academic growth so that they can truly flourish and become the person they are meant to be.

Spirituality is woven through everything we do. It is not limited to Religious Education or Collective Worship but can be experienced across all aspects of school life, through learning, play, relationships, creativity, exploration and the wider opportunities we provide such as visits, enrichment activities and acts of service.

We intentionally create and embrace moments that inspire wonder, reflection and connection, helping children to find joy, meaning and purpose in their lives and to recognise beauty and mystery in the world around them.
