Extra Curricular Activites

In our school, there are a huge range of extra-curricular activities that children can be involved in: sport, drama, art, music and reading to name a few.

Anyone is welcome to join, no matter what their ability. Teams are chosen for events from the children who attend clubs: our aim is that every child, regardless of ability, will represent our school at a sporting event before they leave us. This is something we are very proud of and it is lovely to see the pride children take in pulling on the BLS kit.

This year we will continue to award our Sports Award to all those children in Year 6 who have represented the school in five different sports.

Eucharist

As part of our RE unit ‘Why do Christians Celebrate Eucharist’, we attended Holy Trinity Church this morning to see what happens in church during a Eucharist service. After the service, Rev. Nancy, Andrew and Ian spent time answering our questions about Eucharist.

Many thanks to the congregation of Holy Trinity Church for welcoming us into the church, and to Rev. Nancy, Andrew and Ian for generously giving up some time to answer our questions.

Jewish Seder Meal

This afternoon, to round of our RE work about the Exodus, we reenacted a Jewish Seder Meal. We tried the different food, including parsley with salt water, horseradish and lettuce, and matzos with charoset. Some of it we weren’t so keen on! It was great to experience the meal and think about the symbolism of the food.
